When I lived in India, I wasn't a big fan of Indian sweets. And then one day I discovered these lovely buttery balls of chickpea flour called Besan Ke Ladoo, and my view on Indian sweets forever changed. When creating this recipe I discovered that adding salt (though not traditional), takes this sweet to a whole other level! Also, adding colorful sprinkles and placing them in gold foil cups helps to elevate the visual appeal of Besan Ke Ladoo.
Rose Meringue Cookies
These Rose flavored meringue cookies are the perfect fusion of Indian and Western cuisines. They are light, fluffy and sweet, with a hint of rosewater flavor. The light pink color and colorful sprinkles make them look as delicious as they taste!
Mung Bean Salad
Mung Bean Salad is probably the most healthy Indian recipe I've found to-date! It's a bit of a process to sprout the beans, but it's totally worth the effort! I've "Californianized" my version with the addition of avocado. I created this recipe a few years ago right after I was given a sponsored food tour by an avocado board in California. Avocados were a great addition, but not required.
