Restaurant Review: Snobar, West Hollywood

If you don't know already, I am a HUGE fan of dessert!  This past weekend I had the chance to visit a place that I've been hearing a lot about recently, called "Snobar"! "Sno" is kind of like a cross between ice cream, shaved ice, Pinkberry and Dots! I love all four of those, so I assumed that I would love "Sno" just as much!

I ended up trying the following three flavors: mango, chocolate and rose.  The Mango Sno was rather mild, and didn't really taste much like mango to me.  The Chocolate Sno was also disappointing because it didn't taste at all like chocolate and in fact it completely lacked any flavor!  Rose Sno, oddly enough, turned out to be my favorite of the three I tried.  It definitely had a strong rose flavor, and almost reminded me a bit of a lighter (possibly healthier?) version of Kulfi (an Indian popsicle/ ice cream flavor)!  Though Sno is undoubtably beautiful to look at, and it's paper thin texture makes it fun to eat, it seems to be a dessert better suited for someone who more concerned with calorie counting than intensity of flavor.

  1. Wow - what an amazing dessert. I love rose flavoured milk shake so I am sure the rose flavoured sno will be great.

  2. Gosh that is pretty! It hardly looks like food and at first I thought it was thin layers of fabric. Almost (but not quite) too pretty to eat!

  3. Katherine, I've never heard of this, let alone tried it. But I'm going to take your word for it; have a feeling I would feel exactly the way you did about it. It is pretty!
